Translation of Spanish names
[edit]The Spanish names of two sites are given as "Léon Dormido" and "Isla Lobos". Perhaps someone could give translations of those. I don't speak Spanish, but I guess they mean "Sleeping Lion" and "Wolf Island"?--ospalh (talk) 19:38, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- "Sleeping Lion" for "Léon Dormido" is correct. Supposedly, from certain angles, the rock looks like a sleeping lion. "Wolf Island" for "Isla Lobos" is a literal translation and not far off the mark. Here a sea-lion is a lobo marino (sea wolf), often shortened to just lobo, lobos in plural. So Isla Lobos is the island of sea-lions. Galeodan (talk) 05:18, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
